With the announcement of the offer for Lifetime Access to Teachery, we’ve begun exploring and discussing the possibilities. I’ve also received some wonderful questions… which I’ll address here. Additionally, I’ll share a video of a workshop I offered on “Creating an Online Learning Center.”
I’ve been using Teachery for almost three years and have set up around 20 online courses, freebie hubs, bundle center, and more. I love the platform and find it really easy to use. The support is amazing and there are lots of on-demand training resources (in addition to the special bonuses that I offer when you register for Teachery via my partner affiliate link.)
Here’s what you’ll find in this post.
- In the first section you’ll find the questions and answers.
- Below that, you’ll find a workshop video.
- And you can Click Here to explore the lifetime offer (or sign up for a free Teachery account.)
Questions and Answers About Teachery
Question: What email services does Teachery integrate with and is there a better email marketing platform to use with Teachery as far an integrations?
Answer: Teachery seamlessly integrates with Mail Chimp and ConvertKit. It you use one of those platforms, you are good to go. If you are using another email program to communicate with your audience, you can do one of four things…
- Option 1: Use a third-party app (with a separate fee) use as Zapier, Make or Pabbly. These services provide lots a different types of integration with email providers, payment providers, and more.
- Option 2: Have an opt-in form on your course welcome page where you invite students to subscribe to get course updates. The problem with this is that very few people will do this.
- Option 3: Manually import your students to your existing email program (GoDaddy, FloDesk, etc.)
Option 4: Another option that I use and that many Teachery course owners use is… to have the payment registration go through your established shopping card, such as TriveCard or aMember. In this way you can accept payment and add students to your email list, at one time, automatically.
- Step two for this option would be to set up a secret page on Teachery, which allows student to click a button to access the course, at no additional cost. The common practice here is to either have your payment platform automatically redirect them to this page and/or include it as a link in their payment confirmation email where they click to get to that page.
- I’ve used this method for years and it works beautifully.
Question: Can you give certificates for online course completion for students in your courses?
Answer: You can easily create your own course certificates using Google Slides, PowerPoint, Keynote, Canva, or other certificate-creation programs. In Teachery, you can include these certificates as a link in your built in Course Completed email. (This is an email you can set up inside of Teachery to automatically send to your students, once they complete a course).
Question: Could feature more than one brand in your Teachery account or do you have to purchase more than one account.
Answer: Unlike many course platforms that are linked to a specific name or brand title, in Teachery you can have unlimited courses and hubs, each with its own branding. They will have the word Teachery in the URL (web address) however the rest of the URL will be based on the title of each specific course or brand.
Additionally, if you don’t want to have the word “Teachery” in the URL, you can invest $10-$20 a year in a dedicated domain name that you redirect to Teachery. There’s a tutorial for this in Teachery. CAUTION: This would be for a domain OTHER THAN your main website domain. You don’t want to mess with that as it is dedicated to your existing site.
Question: Does Teachery allow you to write sales pages?
Answer: The short answer is Yes… however the sales pages on Teachery cannot compete with sales pages you create with third-party software. That said, if you don’t need to have all the bells and whistles of a Sales or Landing Page and want to use a proven (and simple) template, they’ve got you covered and you can do quite a bit of customization!
The Teachery Landing Pages can be used in one of two “modes”
Mode 1: Sales Mode: This is the default and it will display one or two buying boxes on the page. These buying boxes can be linked to Teachery Payment Pages or to external checkout pages you create outside of Teachery.
Mode 2: Email Capture Mode: With the click of one button, you can toggle the same Landing Page to Email Capture Mode. The buying boxes will be replaced by an email form.
Teachery provides a searchable learning library with illustrated instructions and some videos. They also offer excellent customer support.
Question: How do you host videos economically if Teachery doesn’t self-host them for your courses on their platform?
Answer: While some platforms (such as Teachable) allow you to directly upload videos to the platform, most course platforms do not provide that option. Let’s talk about how you can add video content to your Teachery courses…
To add videos to your Teachery courses, you can house your videos on platforms such as: Wistia, Vimeo, YouTube, and more! I personally use Vimeo, as it is effective and affordable. You could use YouTube… however in most cases, when people click on a corner of your YouTube video, they will automatically be redirect to YouTube.
