What do you want people to know about the products or product line you offer?

All our planner templates come with PLR and Commercial use licenses, which allow you to sell the finished planner in PDF to end customers on Etsy, Shopify and your own website. Jump start your printable business with our exceptional and beautifully designed planner templates.
Tell us a bit about you – what do you want content creators to know about you?
I am Carmen, the designer and owner behind Simply Couture Designs. I started selling PLR templates in 2019, but Simply Couture Designs has been in business since 2008.
I have been a professional newborn photographer since 2008. In additional to photography, I also design newborn photo albums, birth announcement cards and collages to offer to my photography clients.
In order to streamline and speed up my photography product creation, I made my own Photoshop templates to use. I then started a side graphic design business offering Done-For-You Photoshop templates to other photographers. Simply Couture Designs was born. I have artistic eyes with content creation because of my professional photographer background.
In recent years, I tapped into the planner community and have started selling planner printables on Etsy and on my own website. I see that there is a need for commercial planner templates for anyone to jump start and open a printable shop on Etsy. As a result, I started offering planner templates for commercial use in my shop.
I discovered and was introduced to low content PLR products from the 2019 BC Stack bundle. I was so delighted to find the PLR community that is so supportive and collaborative.
Since then, I changed the direction of my graphic design business. I am now offering Done-For-You printable templates with Commercial rights to printable sellers and Amazon KDP publishers.
What do you love about your products and how can “content creators” benefit from them?
I design my low content PLR templates with my customers in mind, who are content creators without the creative skills or time to make their own planner printables. I offer planner templates in popular niches based on my research in planner community and Etsy marketplace the type of printables and graphics that are in high demand. Since my customers are content creators who are busy business owners, I design and structure my planner templates by leveraging the features in PowerPoint and Affinity Publisher to allow diverse customization and efficient editing.
With my 10 years experience in designing Photoshop templates for professional photographers, I have very good template design skill. My templates empower my customers to make as little or as much customization as desired since each graphic, text, box, and table element is on its own layer, which is fully editable. I also offer free video training on how to use my digital planner templates because of the added complexity with tabs and hyperlinks. I offer free video training on using my printable planner templates as well since my customers have found the training very helpful and well explained.
How did you get started in your business and what do you love about it?
I love the creative side of my photography business and hence I expanded it to include graphic designs. I have been professionally designing stationary and photography album and newborn portrait book products for over 10 years now. I really enjoy making my own graphic assets using Photoshop, Illustrator and recently Affinity Designer on iMac. I also picked up Affinity Publisher to design journal pages and digital planners. I didn’t realize that PowerPoint was a design platform until I tapped into the low content PLR community. I really enjoy the laptop lifestyle and being able to work from home, creating beautiful designs for my audience. It is so rewarding when I read the positive feedback from my customers, on how exceptional my designs are and how easy to customize the templates are. It is a dream come true to be able to inspire others and help low content shop owners to run a successful business.
Please share a tip for people wanting to create and sell products online.
One tip for anyone wanting to create and sell products online is to find your target customer. Identify the person whom you want to sell your product to. Be very specific on the person. For example, a busy mom who is in her 30s, with kids under the age of 5, loves to shop on Etsy and wants to organize her house and daily schedule to be more productive. This way, you can tailor your products to this target customer. For example, you can offer children activity printable, kid coloring book, daily planner page, meal planner, fitness planner, self-care planner. For the marketplace, you can start out on Etsy because that’s where your target customer loves shopping at. I have found that having a very clear target customer has been very helpful in getting real results for my online business.
What do you wish you knew when you first got started in your business?
When I first started, I didn’t put in much thought about building a sale funnel and sending emails to my audience regularly. It wasn’t until the beginning of this year I started to become much more engaged with my audience. I used to have thousands of subscribers on my personal printable email list generated by a free planner printable that I promoted on Pinterest. I thought wasn’t it awesome to have thousands of subscribers?
I kept on collecting new subscribers through my free planner printable. However, I neglected to email my subscribers and validate that they are real people. When I finally made up my mind to send my first email, I was so disappointed because many of these subscribers were just invalid email addresses. Secondly, the open and click rates of these subscribers are very low, likely because many have already forgotten me or just wanted to download a free printable with no interest to connect with me. I’m now working to add sales funnel to my free printable offer as I add the subscribers to my email list. Also, I a m now sending emails to my subscribers regularly (both personal and PLR subscribers). This has really changed the dynamics of my online business.
